question about pitha-puja

My greetings to Guruji and all participants this forum. I often see in the puja pitha puja before yantra puja. However, it is unclear to me, the following mantra should read on the yantra (on the surface of yantra), or have an empty space where then you need to install the yantra, after these mantras?
Pitha-puja:

oṁ maṁ maṇḍūkāya namaḥ | oṁ kāṁ kālāgnirudrāya namaḥ | oṁ maṁ mūla prakṛtyai namaḥ | oṁ āṁ ādhāraśaktayai namaḥ | oṁ kūṁ kūrmāya namaḥ | oṁ dhaṁ dharāya namaḥ |oṁ suṁ sudhāsindhave namaḥ |
oṁ śveṁ śvetadīpāya namaḥ | oṁ suṁ surāṅaghripeśyo namaḥ | oṁ maṁ maṇiharmyāya namaḥ |
oṁ heṁ hemapīṭhāya namaḥ |
agnyādi-pīṭha pāda catuṣṭye
oṁ dhaṁ dharmāya namaḥ | - south-east
oṁ jñāṁ jñānāya namaḥ |- north-east
oṁ vai vairāgyāya namaḥ | - northwest
oṁ aiṁ aiśvaryāya namaḥ |  - southwest

Then come to me not quite clear activity:

oṁ aṁ adharmāya namaḥ |  - east
oṁ aṁ ajñānāya namaḥ |  - north
oṁ aṁ avairāgyāya namaḥ |  - west
oṁ aṁ anaiśvaryāya namaḥ |  - south

Is this a good, lack of righteousness adharmā or ignorance ajñānā and so on?

However, I have seen many descriptions of it not only for the yajna, but also for yantra puja, even in Manramahodadhi. But I do not understand this should be done at the location (earth), before I'll put this place on the yantra or I can do pitha-pija directly on the yantra?
If this yantra on my the altar always, I still need to always make pitha puja?

Yeah, this is a very important details. Initially I can do at this point pitha puja and then just install it on this place yantra?

Peeta pooja is performed before pooja of yantra or idol. it is worshiping the devathas present in the peeta on which the yantra or idol is seated. even though we perform a elobrate peeta pooja before intalling the idol or yantram, it is advisable to perform this pooja all the time before doing the pooja to the idol or yantra.

generally it starts with Aadhara shakthi, maha koormam, aadhisheshan, bhoomandalam, sudha saharam, mahapadmam, then a seat with 16 legs. the 16 legs will be Darma, gnana, vairagya and ishwarya and their opponents.4 vedas and 4 yugas. above this seat there will be a padmam followed by agni, soma, indhu mandalas etc., (there may be different set also these are a common set of peeta devathas)

aagamas prescribe this peeta pooja before start worshiping the actual deity on it. it is like keeping the seat ready before calling the deity for pooja. because after calling we need to offer seat immediately, we cannot make the deity wait till we make the seat ready. hope this will answer your questions.

Dear Sriram R. Thank you for the wonderful answer. You do not know relatively asanas which sits sadhaka:

पृथ्वि त्वय धृता लोका देवि त्वं विष्णुना धृता।
त्वं च धारय मां देवि पवित्रं चासनं कुरु॥

pṛthvi tvaya dhṛtā lokā devi tvaṁ viṣṇunā dhṛtā |
tvaṁ ca dhāraya māṁ devi pavitraṁ cāsanaṁ kuru ||

I read it once when I sat down. Or is it necessary to recite something differently? Perhaps I should  first read the mantra, then sits down.

similar to the pitha offered to the Deity, the pitha where the sadhaka sits should also be worshiped. Different pathathi gives differnt set of pitha devathas for sadhaka. we have to worship the aasana along with the pitha devatha and then sit on the worshiped aasana.
